On Thursday evening of this week we had a special meeting in the Glebe-Ottawa in an olive oil and balsamic vinegar store:\u00a0The Unrefined Olive<\/a>.\u00a0The session was organized by the nice couple running Our Little Farm<\/a>, an organic farm of the Ottawa-Gatineau region.\u00a0We registered for their summer bi-weekly vegetable delivery and they invited us to this workshop about how to use olive oil and balsamic\u00a0vinegar to reveal\u00a0the flavor\u00a0of fresh food. I already knew the power of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, but I was\u00a0really surprised by the number of different olive oils with very specific taste. We were able to taste every olive oil and balsamic\u00a0vinegar, which are among the best ones in the world (it is always like that in this shop, not only during the workshop). I really had a crush on some vinegars which were really like desert to drink: blueberry\u00a0vinegar, chocolate vinegar or more standard ones! We finally left with one bottle of \u00a0Persian Lime olive oil and one of Raspberry balsamic\u00a0vinegar. Our salad and food at home won’t be the same any more. If you don’t know about great olive oils and balsamic\u00a0vinegar, I definitely recommend experimenting.<\/p>\n

Jeudi de cette semaine, nous avons particip\u00e9 \u00e0\u00a0une pr\u00e9sentation dans le quartier The Glebe \u00e0 Ottawa dans un magasin sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 dans l’huile d’olive et le vinaigre balsamique : The Unrefined Olive<\/a>. La session \u00e9tait organis\u00e9e par les g\u00e9rants de Notre Petite Ferme<\/a>, une ferme biologique de la r\u00e9gion. Nous nous sommes abonn\u00e9s \u00e0 leur service d’\u00e9t\u00e9 de livraison de paniers de l\u00e9gumes et ils nous ont invit\u00e9s \u00e0 cette session pour d\u00e9couvrir comment utiliser l’huile d’olive et le vinaigre balsamique \u00a0pour r\u00e9v\u00e9ler le go\u00fbt des l\u00e9gumes. En arrivant sur place j’ai tr\u00e8s vite \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tonn\u00e9 par la quantit\u00e9 de vinaigres et huiles d’olive diff\u00e9rents. Nous avions possibilit\u00e9 de go\u00fbter \u00e0 volont\u00e9 les divers produits disponibles qui font partie des meilleurs du monde. J’ai d\u00e9finitivement \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9duit par les vinaigres balsamiques, on aurait cru boire un dessert : vinaigre aux bleuets, au chocolat… Nous sommes finalement reparti avec une petite bouteille d’huile d’olive et citron et une de vinaigre \u00e0 la m\u00fbre. Nos salades et \u00a0plats ne seront d\u00e9finitivement plus les m\u00eames.<\/em><\/p>\n
