Along the River<\/h4>\n

The Ottawa-Gatineau area is defined and shaped by rivers: the Ottawa River, the Gatineau River, the Rideau Canal, the Rideau River… Even though the water landscape is beautiful, my biggest surprise during my first few years in the area was that it is quite difficult to find a place to have a drink right along the water. I have been used to France where usually the water landscape is accessible to the public. I found a few spots over the years, but nothing ideal. This situation is now gone with the help of new team who played it very well and opened two places with awesome views on the Ottawa River. It started last summer when Tavern on the Hill opened in Major Hill Park in downtown Ottawa. I have always wondered why there was nothing there before, just between the National Gallery of Canada and over the Ottawa River. It was well done. But this summer they played it even better, opening another location: just on the Rideau Falls, a perfect location for a sunset drink with a view on the Ottawa River and the Rideau Falls. There is not a lot to add to that, the pictures should speak by themselves. I hope you can have a chance to try the new Tavern on the Falls, the place is a bit pricey but I guess you pay for the view.<\/p>\n
