A quick stop on the west coast

Two days in Seattle

After a stop in San Francisco, our trip brought us to the north of the west coast in Seattle. I was really excited because it has been a few years since I wanted to visit this city. Like many kids in the 90s, I was listening to Nirvana and as a guitarist I love Jimi Hendrix; both of these two legends come from Seattle like lots of  great music bands (Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighthers…) and it is definitely a good reason to go there. Seattle is also the home of big companies like Microsoft, Starbucks, Amazon, Boeing… As a result, it is a place where things are changing quite fast, old neighborhoods revitalized, new people come to work there.

It was another quick stop: just two days (including one for my work) to feel the life of Seattle. I had the luck to have friends living there so, first it was very nice to see them again and secondly they were great city guides. On the first day I just had time to enjoy the Gaswork Park and a great view of the Seattle skyline from Kerry Park. My second day started at the famous Pike Place Market for a nice breakfast followed by a walk in the farmer’s market and downtown to the public library and the Seattle Center where sits the Space Needle Tower. We stopped a couple of hours to visit the EMP Museum, which is dedicated to pop culture. It is definitely a museum that I recommend, the current exhibitions that we looked at were about Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, the evolution of the guitar, indie video games, science fiction horror movies and fantasy worlds: quite a big program. The day finished in Discovery Park to enjoy a beautiful sunset on the sea with a nice view of Mount Rainier. A last beer at the Fremont Brewing Company and my adventure was finished.

Here are some of the pictures that I have collected. Seattle, thank you for the nice introduction and see you again as soon as possible.

Seattle

  • Welcome

Hello dear visitor, welcome to my photography world. I am a radio frequency engineer who moved from France to experience a new life in Canada. Living far from my friends and family, traveling for fun and for work I created this blog and website to share a bit of my life with them and everyone else interested in photography. I grew up in front of the Atlantic Ocean in the south of the beautiful region of Brittany. As a passionate photographer, I try to catch the best of each moment from the life in the streets to the changing colors of nature. Photography has almost always been part of my life and helps me to understand and remember the beauty of our world. I hope you’ll enjoy your time spent here.
