Black and White Countryside

An afternoon in Westport

The last past months I have been concentrated more on film photography and especially on black and white film photography. My digital camera (Nikon Df) is staying on the shelf, except for my recent trip to Newfoundland, and I am more using different analog cameras that I got in the past year. A month ago, on a beautiful summer weekend we found a destination which was unknown to us: the beautiful village of Westport, an hour and half from Ottawa. This is the ideal one day trip: the village is small and super charming, between lakes and in front of a beautiful hill offering the best view of the area. Add to that  a local brewery, a delicious bakery, and a winery on the lake that serves fresh wooden pizzas and you which that summer will stay forever. So, we drove there, found a few hikes in the nature, enjoyed drinks and food and took pictures. And for that I took my Leica M6 and a roll of black and white JCH 400. Capturing summer in black and white is not the first idea that I had but I have to say that I am quite happy with the results. I said we would return there in the fall to enjoy the beautiful colors of the Indian summer. That time I will probably bring some colour films.

  • Welcome

Hello dear visitor, welcome to my photography world. I am a radio frequency engineer who moved from France to experience a new life in Canada. Living far from my friends and family, traveling for fun and for work I created this blog and website to share a bit of my life with them and everyone else interested in photography. I grew up in front of the Atlantic Ocean in the south of the beautiful region of Brittany. As a passionate photographer, I try to catch the best of each moment from the life in the streets to the changing colors of nature. Photography has almost always been part of my life and helps me to understand and remember the beauty of our world. I hope you’ll enjoy your time spent here.
