Three days in Monterey

Monterey Day One

In the middle of the Canadian winter I was sent to the city of Monterey in California. Monterey is mainly known for its big aquarium and its annual jazz festival, but after spending three days there I can say this little Pacific Coast city is certainly one of the best places to be in January. Everyday after work I used the few hours I had before the night to explore the area. My first stop was at the Carmel Mission, which is a Roman Catholic mission church from 1771. It is one of the landmarks of California where you can feel the past history of the country. The beautiful place, which is also a museum, is in superb shape. As the sunlight was going down the shadows created a very nice atmosphere. I left to drive along the coast on the 11-Mile Drive, a semi-private road offering superb lookouts. I stopped at « Lone Cypress » to photograph this lonely tree on his rock as the sun was slowly disappearing.

  • Welcome

Hello dear visitor, welcome to my photography world. I am a radio frequency engineer who moved from France to experience a new life in Canada. Living far from my friends and family, traveling for fun and for work I created this blog and website to share a bit of my life with them and everyone else interested in photography. I grew up in front of the Atlantic Ocean in the south of the beautiful region of Brittany. As a passionate photographer, I try to catch the best of each moment from the life in the streets to the changing colors of nature. Photography has almost always been part of my life and helps me to understand and remember the beauty of our world. I hope you’ll enjoy your time spent here.
