Winter time is Studio time

Experimenting with artificial light

Even if we have a warm winter this year, we are in Canada and it is still quite cold. I have checked my archives and January and February are the time of the year where I usually take the fewest photos. The reason is that the amount of motivation needed to go outside to explore the city or nature is clearly too high for me when it is -15°C. So, it is the perfect time to experiment with studio photography. As I was thinking to buy some equipment to set up a little home studio, I had the opportunity to go to a studio session at Garry Black’s studio in Ottawa. I have already been to some of his workshops in the past and he has tonnes of great advice and we always have a nice time with other photographers and models. For this new session we had three hours and three models to work with. Here are some of my favorite photographs of the session. My next step is to set my own studio at home to take portraits of people that I know. Thank you Garry, Keirstin, Jennifer, Kim and everybody for the fun time yesterday.

  • Welcome

Hello dear visitor, welcome to my photography world. I am a radio frequency engineer who moved from France to experience a new life in Canada. Living far from my friends and family, traveling for fun and for work I created this blog and website to share a bit of my life with them and everyone else interested in photography. I grew up in front of the Atlantic Ocean in the south of the beautiful region of Brittany. As a passionate photographer, I try to catch the best of each moment from the life in the streets to the changing colors of nature. Photography has almost always been part of my life and helps me to understand and remember the beauty of our world. I hope you’ll enjoy your time spent here.
