La Gacilly Photo

A unique place

As a photographer, I am lucky enough to have one of the most unique photography festivals less than one hour away from where I am from, in the tiny village of La Gacilly. This picturesque village made of stone houses is the home of the Rocher family (the products Yves Rocher). Before 2003, La Gacilly was a tourist destination where people could enjoy the little artisans and craftsmen stores as well as the activities on the river. In 2003, Jacques Rocher founded the photography festival La Gacilly Photo. This four-month long festival takes place directly in the stone streets and offered a new life to the village. It is totally free and presents diverse international photographers covering different styles and topics. You will find beautiful creations but also very strong images which ask questions about the way our world works. What I really like is the way that the photographs are really integrated everywhere in the environment of the village: on walls, in the streets, in the parks or along the river. It creates a unique experience enjoying a beautiful place and also discovering amazing images. The only problem is that now I live five thousand kilometers away, on a different continent. My secret dream is to bring the same concept to where I live in Gatineau-Ottawa. Anyway, if you go in south Brittany in summer, make sure to stop a day in La Gacilly, you won’t regret it.

  • Welcome

Hello dear visitor, welcome to my photography world. I am a radio frequency engineer who moved from France to experience a new life in Canada. Living far from my friends and family, traveling for fun and for work I created this blog and website to share a bit of my life with them and everyone else interested in photography. I grew up in front of the Atlantic Ocean in the south of the beautiful region of Brittany. As a passionate photographer, I try to catch the best of each moment from the life in the streets to the changing colors of nature. Photography has almost always been part of my life and helps me to understand and remember the beauty of our world. I hope you’ll enjoy your time spent here.
